Looking for
employees? Looking for a job; Maybe a
better job? The Blount County Chamber of
Commerce Job Fair is set for Tuesday, October 21,
In addition, representatives will be on hand to help
exhibitors post their job openings on the Blount Area Job Board at www.blountareajobs.com. This is a free website that helps match local
employers with job seekers specifically searching for a career in the Blount
County area.
Job fair booth space is still available for businesses
looking for employees. Cost is $150 for Chamber members and $250 for
non-members. The cost includes an eight-foot skirted table, chairs, signage and

City of Townsend Briefing
Members are invited to attend a briefing by the City of Townsend on Thursday, October 23rd, 8:00 a.m. at the Blount Chamber. Townsend Mayor Pat Jenkins will be available to brief chamber members on the status of the City of Townsend.
Speed Networking
The Chamber's last speed networking event of the year is set for October 28, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Airport Hilton. This event allows members to exchange business information in a fun, relaxed "speed dating" style format. "For those who may squirm away from public speaking, the format of the Speed Networking Event makes it easy because of the structured, friendly, small-group setting," says Katie Kinney of Preservation Plaza. Participation is held to 36. This event is free of charge to members however; there will be a $25 charge if reservations are not cancelled within 24 hours. Basically Blount Membership and Lifestyle Magazine
Basically Blount, the 2009 Lifestyle Magazine and Membership Directory, produced by the Blount County Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development Board, is entering production once again for the 2009 edition. If you did not have the opportunity to purchase an ad in this publication, you can do so in this edition. Basically Blount is distributed to all 1,350 Chamber Members and to thousands of newcomers, area visitors, and new and potential businesses. All advertisers receive a BONUS color bold listings in the Membership Directory and the Basically Blount Companion Directory. We are pleased to offer a variety of ad sizes at very reasonable rates. It’s time again for submitting
applications for the annual Business Excellence Awards. These prestigious
awards are given at the Chamber’s Annual meeting in January. Fill out an application and give your company
the recognition it deserves as one of Blount County’s best! The categories for this year’s awards are: Business Manufacturing, Business
Service, Business Retail, and Non-Profit/Governmental. The winner’s
for each category will win recognition at the Chamber Annual meeting, an
outdoor sign, a press release to the local media, and a special listing in the
2009 Basically Blount. Additionally this year, winners will receive
one year free membership to the Blount County Chamber of Commerce.
