The United States Chamber of Commerce awarded the Blount Chamber with 5-Star Accreditation for its sound policies, effective organizational procedures, and positive impact on the community. Forster Retiring

Fred Forster, president and CEO of the Blount Partnership, announced he will retire on June 30 of this year.  Forster has led the Blount Partnership, consisting of the Blount County Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Board, Smoky Mountain Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Chamber Foundation, for the past 11 years after a 35-year career in the U.S. Air Force and the Tennessee Air National Guard. Participate in Earth Roundup

Earth Roundup is Blount County's premier Earth Day Celebration. The 3rd Annual ERU will return to Maryville College campus on Saturday, April 24, 2010 from 5:00- 8:00 p.m. Sponsored by the Blount Chamber and Maryville College, ERU is also a partnership with several organizations including Keep Blount Beautiful, Little River Watershed Association, Blount County Children's Advocacy Center and the Maryville Arts Coalition.  Read here for more information and vendor application form

 

State Highway 33 Improvements


Members and the general public are invited to an information meeting with the Tennessee Department of Transportation regarding upcoming improvements to Old Knoxville Highway (SR 33) on March 25, 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Blount Chamber. The proposed improvement will begin at the intersection of Old Knoxville Highway and East Hunt Road and extend approximately 550 feet north of Clarks Grove. Government officials will have information tables for viewing the improvement plan. For more information, call 983-7715.
