GET CONNECTED TO THE CHAMBER AND OTHER MEMBERS

In these unusual economic times, make sure you and your staff maximize membership in the Chamber and get connected with potential customers. Connect with others by joining a special interest group, volunteering for special events, and planning and/or taking advantage of Chamber programs.

Ambassadors:
Connect with fellow Chamber members and build business relationships with one-on-one personal calls to other members. Meets monthly.

Existing Industry & Excellence Awards Committee:
Recognize business and industry accomplishments, understand issues facing our existing businesses and industry and aid in finding solutions for those issues.

Housing Committee:
Committee to address local housing issues and promote practices to enhance the local housing market and the community’s quality of life. Meetings begin in March and will be held as needed.

Environment:
Be on the front end of the Air Quality Improvement Committee. This group meets quarterly to address environmental concerns. Via email, group also receives environmental information/alerts.

Government Relations:
Engage local, state and federal governments through briefings. You’ll receive legislative email alerts and will be invited to the Day on the Hill legislative trip to Nashville.

HR Focus Group:
Stay up-to-date and in the conversation on crucial employment issues. Meets quarterly. Hosts annual Supervisor Training Workshop.

Operation Thank-You:
Network face-to-face with fellow Chamber members while distributing Chamber information packets in February.

Nonprofit Group Info:
Receive information and tips relative to the nonprofit industry.

Growth:
Join the dialogue on the challenges of growth and find out what you can do to shape a safe, strong, sustainable community. Sign up to receive info emails related to growth in Blount County

Speed Networking:
Have a blast and turbo-charge your networking capability with this “everyone participates” roundtable format! Meets twice a year.

Tourism/Travel:
Volunteer to keep this important industry viable in our region by working to preserve the Scenic Highway 321 byway, explore geotourism/smart growth initiative, Preserve America program, and Cades Cove transportation alternatives.

Transportation:
Take your talents on the road with this important group that addresses crucial local and regional transportation issues.

Women In Business Focus Group:
Receive email notifications and reminders for this popular lunch series in which women pros share best practices and discuss issues relevant to their work. Meets four times per year.

Volunteers in Progress:
Be on the front end of economic development! VIP Members pay above the normal membership dues and receive special benefits and exposure for their business through exclusive economic development and social events.

Event Planning and Volunteer OPPORTUNITIES!

Taste of Blount - Help plan this event set for the fall. Planning meetings begin in May.

Earth Roundup - Volunteers are needed to work during this event on April 24

Townsend Festivals - Volunteers needed to work during several festivals/events such as the Smoky Mountain Pottery Festival, Townsend Spring & Fall Festivals and Winter Heritage Festival.
